This Little Saigon in Orange County is the largest, oldest, and most prominent Little Saigon in the United States. Though Tina grew up in the San Gabriel Valley within Los Angeles , she visited family in Little Saigon every weekend.

As part of Vietnamese tradition, Callil and Tina had a Đám Hỏi in May 2022 as a "ceremony to ask for the bride's hand in marriage." They will sign a marriage license at the New York City Hall in September 2023.

The Đám Cưới is a dinner reception to celebrate the start of the marriage. In the morning, there will be a small, private procession & tea ceremony where the groom "fetches" the bride, and pays respect to the ancestors. We hope you're excited to join us in the evening to kick off a fun union!

FAQ

Where to stay

If you are looking for a place to stay, check out this list of hotels, airbnbs and other options within reasonable driving distance of the venue.

Getting to OC/LA

We usually fly into LAX when we visit – it's about an hour away. You can also fly into Long Beach airport (small, cute) or Orange County airpot (SNA – we've never been before…).

We highly recommend renting or calling a car to get around. We often use Turo for this.

Things to do

There's a lot of stuff to do in SoCal. Beaches! Airshow! Food! Check out this list, and if you've got a rec, let us know so we can share with our guests.

Attire

Summer semi-formal. Dress for sunny weather and bring an additional layer for the evening. Dinner venue is indoors.

Parking

Tea Ceremony parking is extremely limited; we recommend calling a car. Asian Banquet parking is plentiful, but if you are drinking alcohol, we also recommend a taxi.

Gifts

Your presence at our Đám Cưới is more than enough. If you insist, we welcome a handwritten card :)

Note: We don't live in California! We live in New York. Kindly refrain from gifting any items that we can't take back with us.
